In Praise of Slow Blogging

I don't enjoy rushed dear-diary blogs of tedious daily minutiae, so for me this little manifesto is right on the money- or a handy excuse for being lazy in putting those posts out.

"Slow Blogging is a rejection of immediacy. It is an affirmation that not all things worth reading are written quickly, and that many thoughts are best served after being fully baked and worded in an even temperament."

- Todd Sieling, Slow Blog (2008)

oh I love it. Right on the money. Aaah, yes. Reminds me of why I started this thing in the first place. NOT to record my daily gasps and whims. To find a space to lurk, somewhere only a little less transient than an openmike or a sandy beach where the waves wash away your scrawls. I've always been attracted to theatre rather than print because of the way the words exist only in that suspended moment when they are spoken. For them to burn deeply they have to be deeply, slowly worked - hence a lengthy rehearsal process. Get back, Pagerank, get thee back.

Your posts are brilliant. If there has to be fewer of them, well, I guess I'll put up with it. Will be back to read older ones.
